Sponsored content blends with VTDigger site look and feel while engaging our readership seamlessly. This opportunity allows for storytelling and is great for content like brand awareness, an event or service, a testimonial about your business, helpful community guides and more.
You have the option of choosing whether your content is hosted on VTDigger.org or by you. If we host your content, we can include links, multiple images, video and a call to action box. The design matches our post template for VTDigger stories. Here are some examples of sponsored content hosted on VTDigger.
Note: Content will be reviewed by VTDigger and may be edited for style, substance and attribution. Hosted posts are removed one year after publication. Every Sponsor Spotlight includes a highlighted banner noting sponsored content. The byline includes “Sponsored by” and the name of your business. Please note, as of January 2024, VTDigger no longer accepts political or advocacy campaigns as sponsored content.
Sponsor Spotlight specifications
There are (up to) three main elements to Sponsor Spotlight’s design:
- The article (if hosted on vtdigger.org)
- Homepage feed
- Newsletter placement
Requirements to create all three elements:
- Main image (2000px wide, exported to 72ppi and 4:3 ratio)
- Post title
- Post excerpt (up to 50 words)
- If hosting on your site, a url you would like the ad to link to
1. The article (if hosting on vtdigger.org)
If you’re hosting your content on VTDigger, we require a text document containing your article, formatted as closely as possible to how you would like it to appear on vtdigger.org. In addition to the requirements listed above, we also ask you to include:
- Post subtitle (appears below the post title)
- Your logo (if this is your first post hosted by VTDigger)
- Links within the post
- Audio/video urls for embeds
- If including additional images, placement locations noted within article along with captions or attributions
If including additional images, please include as attached files to your submission (2000 px wide, exported to 72ppi and 4:3 ratio).
2. Homepage feed
Your content is included in our homepage feed for 24 hours on its publication date. The module pulls in your main image, title, excerpt and links to your post.
3. Newsletter placement
Your content is included in our Daily Digger newsletter on its publication date as the third post in the newsletter feed. The module pulls in your main image, title, excerpt and links to your post.
